How to clean a memory foam mattress?

Posted by admin on May 29th, 2010 and filed under memory foam | 3 Comments »

I dropped a pint of beer on my memory foam mattress, and am wondering how i can clean it.
Any ideas.?
Cheers.

If you can get it to a shower or tub…put the part that has the beer and run soap and water through it…running water through it will remove the beer …..Hanging it up to dry……If you can put it outside and run a water hose over it and remove the beer that way would help …the sun can dry it out

Having sex on Tempur-pedic mattresses???

Posted by admin on May 29th, 2010 and filed under visco elastic memory foam | 6 Comments »

I am going to be buying a Tempur-pedic mattress soon.
Developed by NASA, the visco elastic memory foam used in tempur-pedic mattresses provides a sleeping surface quite unlike any other mattress available.
But how does it affect sex?
Does it make it better or worse, easier or harder?
Everyone, especially lesbian couples, please share your experiences :-)

they are cold and hard, kind of like my ex-wife.

but really they dont work that well, your knees and elbows sink into them.

i would reccomend the sleep number bed from slecet comfort. We have 2 of them one at home and then we bought one for our motorhome and they are great, even for sex!!

Tempur Pedic Is A Memory Foam Mattress

If you like the softness of a traditional, coil-spring mattress, and also need the back support of a good solid carpeted floor, then a memory foam mattress provides the perfect middle ground. Many problems in today’s society result from the lack of sleep, so be sure to get a good bed and perhaps with a memory foam mattress. The calm and composed sleep depends primarily upon the quality of the mattress we use in our beds.

Before you smash your piggy bank to spend everything on the first memory foam mattress you see, realize that not all memory foam mattresses are the same. They vary in density, thickness and quality. A quality memory foam mattress like Tempurpedic can help you to sleep by reducing the pressure points on your body while you sleep. There are less expensive alternatives, you can use a high density polyurethane foam mattress topper, which is designed to relieve pressure points in the same way that a memory foam mattress does.

If you are going to buy a memory foam mattress, it is important that you select one that has sufficient memory foam on the top layer. That will in the end let you achieve full body support by sleeping on a Tempur mattress. The memory foam mattress pad is an inexpensive way to improve the sleeping surface of your bed. Memory foam pads don’t cost very much when compared to the cost of an actual mattress set. But the comfort they provide, will make you feel like you are sleeping on a cloud.

It is important to know that the memory foam is temperature-sensitive, so the mattress might be too hard for you if your room temperature is below 65F. Basic research show that the average online price for a memory foam mattress is between $700-$3000 USD. So it is important to select the right type of memory foam mattress.

One great advantages of a memory foam mattress is its sensitivity to weight. Depending of your weight you shall choose a thinner or thicker mattress. The mattress becomes softer as the temperature rises and because it’s an insulating material it is possible to increase the temperature of the foam in localised areas. NASA never actually used the memory foam in the space crafts because it gives off a toxic gas in small quantities which could cause problems in an air tight space. The material was developed for NASA in the 1970’s with the objective to provide comfortable support for astronauts at take off and landing. Then it took many years until it became available in the shops. That was in the beginning of 1990.

The Tempurpedic foam mattress has the ability to return to its original shape and can provide better comfort and orthopedic support. As a dense memory foam mattress reacts with body heat, it will consequently within seconds forms around the shape of the body. The Tempur Pedic is suitable for all weights so you don’t have to buy a firmer mattress for someone heavy and a softer mattress for someone who is lighter.

One might think that the Tempur mattresses are overpriced. I bought my mattress 15 years ago and it is still working the same way as when I first got it so a quality mattress is something you can invest in and you will definitely not regret. The benefits of having a foam mattress are likely to show themselves to you quickly.

Detailed information on memory foam mattresses, mattress pads, pillows, slippers, and dog beds, as well as memory foam product reviews are easily found on the Internet. It can be good to know that it sometimes take a couple of nights to get used to the pillow as it is smaller than the pillow you are used to.

Prices of tempurpedic foam mattresses have decreased quite significantly over the years so nowadays it is worth it to buy. So if you want to improve your sleep, try to test out the mattress prior to purchasing it.

Do memory foam products have petroleum products in them?

Posted by admin on May 18th, 2010 and filed under memory foam | 1 Comment »

I bought a memory foam matress topper and i use oxygen..you cannot use petroleum products around oxygen, i need to know if i can use my bed topper with the oxygen in my room.

Most of them are made from petroleum products. You need to call the manufacturer or do a search for that company to find out for sure. Many mattresses also have parts made from petroleum products.

Tempur Pedic vs. Other Brands of Visco Elastic Memory Foam Beds?

Posted by admin on May 18th, 2010 and filed under visco elastic memory foam | 1 Comment »

Ok so my husband and I are in the market for a visco elastic memory foam bed… we have priced both TempurPedic and other brands, and there is about a $1000 price difference.

Is the TempurPedic brand really superior?
If not then why them price difference?
We want to buy the best quality, and need to know if buying a bed that is cheeper is going to effect the quality of the product.
I have layed on them both and see no difference, and wanted to know if there is a long term difference?

I like my tempur pedic and think it is superior to most other regular mattresses.

I don’t know about how the memory foam compares to it though.
One suggestion is find a store or 2 stores that have both and lay on them for a while.
Also if you have not gotten a brochure, the company will send you info. Tempurpedic is supposed to have been designed for Nasa, from what I heard. I had a professional seeing me for my pain who didn’t seem to like how the memory foam pillows worked in comparison to another product.

What is the Best Features in Memory Foam Mattress and Mattresses to Buy?

Posted by admin on May 3rd, 2010 and filed under memory foam | No Comments »

The original memory foam mattress was by Tempur-Pedic and it still remains the market leader. At first only one version was made but now the company makes several, each offering different covers, memory foam thicknesses, base foam thickness, etc. Some luxury models even utilize and ultra high density Tempur HD foam and materials such as suede and silk.

So what is a good memory foam mattress made of? Well they key factors that a mattress can be judged by are density, materials, comfort preference, and warranty.

Foam density means how much 1 cubic foot of foam weighs. A quality piece of memory foam that is 1 foot high by 1 foot wide and 1 foot in depth will weigh at least 5 lbs. All quality mattresses will have a density of 5 lbs or more per cubic foot. All memory foam mattresses contain a layer of only 2-6 inches of actual memory foam however, so this does not mean that the mattress will weigh 5lbs per foot. Density is probably the most telling feature in terms of quality and longevity and really has nothing to do with the firmness of the mattress.

Many households are looking for that one foam mattress memory brand that can really make a difference in their quality of sleep. But since personal preferences and budgets vary so widely, no one brand or mattress will suit everyone. High quality memory foam beds can be purchased for much less than Tempurpedic mattresses and lower quality beds can be purchased for roughly the same price as traditional mattresses. As with most purchases, you get what you pay for. Typically the more expensive brands will provide a higher quality, longer lasting product with a better warranty.

A quality foam memory mattress must possess the heat-sensitive, visco-elastic material which molds itself to every angle and curve of your body for the true memory foam experience. When you sleep on it, it gives your neck, back, shoulders and feet proper support. This is vital as your entire musculoskeletal architecture is supported in the correct anatomical position. When you test the mattresses, lie down in your normal sleep position and get comfortable for 5-10 minutes. You should feel the gradual sinking and contouring over the first few minutes. When you sleep on the memory foam mattress, notice to see if the pressure is evenly distributed across the entire contact area between your body and the mattress. For quality memory foam beds, there will be a very noticeable difference from a typical pillow-top, and the material should come back up gradually after you rise.

If you share a bed with someone, their comfort needs to be considered as well as your own. If you’re looking for a mattress for your single bed, you only need to think of your own comfort and support.

Once you’ve both decided on a day and time to look at mattresses, you need to determine what features you need. There are three basic steps you need to follow:

• Size – Many couples have a standard double or queen bed, however, the width in these beds for two people to sleep comfortably may feel limited depending on size and space preferences. If your room can accommodate it, most couples should opt for at least a queen or even a king size bed. For adjustable beds, a king (which will most likely be split) is the most recommended size for couples. A split king is essentially two twin long beds that offer a comfortable amount of personal space for the average person.

• Support – This is one of the most important factors in selecting the right mattress. There is a good chance that you and your partner require different support from a mattress, for example, one of you may be much taller or heavier than the other so it could be a good idea to look at construction types that offer support for individuals. There is the possibility that your ideas differ largely in how a mattress should be or which materials feel the best. You may wish to consider a split or customizable type mattress which can be made with two separate materials and firmnesses, but still put into one mattress for a more desirable look.
• Cost – The cost of mattresses can differ greatly, but generally, it is recommended to get the best quality mattress your budget supports, as they will typically last a long time. Although, just because you spend a lot of money on a mattress does not mean it will be the right one for you, or your partner. Put aside advertising gimmicks and promotions and look for a mattress that provides the adequate comfort and support you both require. Then when you’re ready to select one, use the internet and local ads to find the best deal.

Is there a difference between memory and latex foam mattress?

Posted by admin on May 3rd, 2010 and filed under memory foam | 1 Comment »

My husband and I are both on the heavy side. We are shopping for a new mattress and just heard about the latex. We were ready to buy the memory foam but have seen the latex on sale for much cheaper. Is it worth paying extra for the memory foam? Is it true that memory foam retains heat? Any input is appreciated.

Real all natural latex rubber will cost as much as memory foam and sometimes more. The truth is whether you go with memory foam or all natural latex rubber they are both great products. Both have cheap and expensive versions and great quality and low quality so do your homework.

Memory foam companies have built mattresses to deal with the heat issues, however turning over especially as a bigger couple turning over and feeling trapt can be a big issue.

All natural latex rubber if you are buying the good stuff can last 15-30 years, It is also virtually chemical free and built from sustainable resources and is not petroleum based.

Price Range of a Mattress?

Posted by admin on May 3rd, 2010 and filed under visco elastic memory foam | 1 Comment »

What would be the price range of a:
- small single mattress
- for a platform top (firm base) bed
- damask filling
- quilted / diamond stitching
- soft comfort level
- memory foam (visco elastic)

i weigh 50 kg (8 stones, 110 pounds) and i sleep on my stomach/side.
i don’t really know much about choosing a mattress, so any recommandations will be good.

ty =)

First try a few the two things tl look for in choosing a mattress is support that is the most important, you don’t want to be bent in an akward angle. Second its comfort, you have to be able to sleep on it for eight hours. If you are looking for something with memory foam the cost for a twin mattress only will start at about $700 on sale for a goon one but it might not be the right one. Just use the tips I told you and you wont be sorry.
