Visco Pedic Mattresses Are Out of This World!

The visco pedic mattresses are also known as Memory Foam. The memory foam mattresses trace their origin to N.A.S.A where they were used to cover astronauts from the extreme pressure of gravitational force when they flew into space.

The specialty of the memory foam was that it was intended to conform to the shape of the astronauts bodies based on their bodies temperature and weight. This provided fantastic support to the astronauts body over long periods of time.

This foam became very widely used and it was used by the medical community for healing patients and later it was realized it could be used at home also. As a result, memory foam changed into visco pedic mattresses and attained an entry into the public markets.

What makes visco pedic mattresses so top notch is a combination of a good number of properties that provide the most comfortable sleeping experience available for you. Let us consider what these are.

THE NAME OF THE GAME: Why these mattresses are labeled Memory Foam in effect reflects on their top notch properties. The name may be a way to explain the foam’s ability to mold to your body’s contours while you lie on it.

When you tweak angles or get up out of bed, the foam slowly regains its original flat surface until the following time you use it. The mattresses are capable of “remembering” and resuming its initial shape after every use. This is one of the most important assets of the visco-pedic mattress. It really remembers!!

PRESSURE TACTICS: When reclining on a mattress created of memory foam your body will gently sink into it. This is due to the fact that the mattress is attained up of individual castles of foam and each one respond to your bodys form and temperature.

The result will be that the natural hollows of your body, like those in your neck, knees, shoulders back etc, will be cradled leading to a feeling of gentle support. The joints in your body, along with the muscle groups, will be relaxed, leading to a feeling of weightlessness, all enabling you to nod off to sleep gently.

If you compare this sensation with that of sleeping on a normal mattress, either spring, coil or typical foam, you will find that these mattresses expect your body to conform to their surfaces, which are rigid. These mattresses in effect push upwards and will cause a pressure build up in your body, in an attempt to make your body adapt to their flat surfaces.

The ultimate result will be a reduction in blood supply and terrible discomfort. This will cause more unpleasantness to sufferers of chronic back pain. You will have to alter the position you are sleeping in to make yourself comfortable, and this will disturb your sleep.

DONT BUG ME: memory foam mattresses or vicso pedic mattresses have been found not to breed dust mites. These dust mites are harmful to sufferers of allergies, asthma and other related respiratory problems. These bugs are found to inhabit the materials which cover the mattresses.

MAKE-UP: The visco-pedic mattress is usually made of 100% visco-elastic memory foam. The foam has the unique specialty of responding to the bodys temperature and form, thus making sleep very comfortable.

The visco-memory foam is specially formulated polyurethane foam that allows foam to alter its firmness based upon your body’s temperature. The visco memory foam eliminates the localized pressure caused by other mattresses and reacts to your body’s temperature making the foam to become silky.

Visco pedic mattresses are the better alternative for an even better nights sleep. If you are tired of your conventional mattress and are looking for that special something guaranteeing a restful night, the visco-pedic mattress is for you.

How long should I let my memory foam expand?

Posted by admin on September 20th, 2010 and filed under memory foam | 4 Comments »

I just bought and received a 3" twin size Soft Sleeper memory foam mattress topper. My friend has another memory foam topper, but had problems with his because he didn’t let it expand enough before using it. How long should I let it expand for to avoid doing damage to it? Is it going to grow much? The dimensions online said 76" x 37" x 3", but it’s only about 68" x 30" x 2.5" right now. Also, any hints for getting that awful smell out? Should I just use some Frebreeze?

Frebreeze will help. The smell will eventually leave. I suspect your friend got a defective topper. We have one, and it is shorter and narrower than it is supposed to be. stretch it to fit your mattress before putting your sheet on. Memory only means if you stay off of it long enough, it will go back to close it’s original size.

Memory foam or regular mattress for platform bed?

Posted by admin on September 11th, 2010 and filed under memory foam | 3 Comments »

I’m looking to buy a platform bed and noticed everyone says to get a memory foam mattress.

Is that because memory foam just feels a WHOLE lot better, or because a regular mattress is uncomfortable on platform beds? In short will it be difficult to sleep with a regular mattress?

Well you can get a mattress or a foam mattress. Its your choice. Foam mattresses are expensive and if you want, you can use 1 mattress and buy a foam topper. Toppers are like a mini mattress and you can put it on top of the regular mattress. You can buy the topper at target.

Adjustable Beds and Tempur-pedic Mattress- to Reduce Your Back Pain

When you are choosing your mattress, you are choosing your most used and important piece of furniture in your home. If you sleep the average eight hours a day, and expect to keep your mattress for at least ten years, you will have spent 29,200 hours on this piece of equipment! It will impact your mood, comfort, your health, and your sense of well being for as long as you sleep on it. So while this often overlooked purchase may seem insignificant initially, it is far from it.

There are many more options today when choosing a mattress than there used to be. Mattresses are made to cater to the individual, and there are mattresses that are big enough for two people that have separate components, making it possible for each individual to set mattress variables to suit their own individual comfort or body type. Such mattresses mean partners no longer have to compromise a good night’s sleep.

Adjustable beds are mechanical marvels of design and comfort which are perfectly adapted to improve many different symptoms associated with varied conditions that lead to back pain and more. If you suffer from lower back pain, your condition may be the result of many causes, of which the sufferer often has no how they got in the first place.

Adjustable mattresses are now being designed with flexibility at both ends, so that both the top and bottom of the mattress can be adjusted to rise or lie down according to the sleeper’s comfort levels. This is very useful if you are a person who likes to watch television or read a bit before falling asleep at night.

The causes associated with back pain include strains, sprains, ligament sprains, joint problems, over-extension, work-related pains, slipped disks, and more. Actual physical disability from instances such as work related accidents are another well-known cause of back pain. In all these instances, an adjustable bed can help soothe your sore aching back.

There are other tips from doctors on relieving back pain which can be utilized in combination with an adjustable bed. Heating pads are recommended to relax painful muscle spasms and medications such as Motrin, Aleve, Aspirin and Tylenol also reduce pain and swelling. Once again, an adjustable bed can help you relieve and maybe even prevent these same pains!

Some adjustable beds, specifically electric adjustable beds, come equipped with soothing heating units built in. Some electric adjustable beds even have a vibrating feature to massage away daily stress, boost circulation and ease your sore back. As far as any relief you may get from taking medications, the adjustable bed manufacturers haven’t come up with anything to replace them yet.

Adjustable beds come in a huge wide variety of different shapes and sizes, models and types to fit most any budget. There are basic, hand operated adjustable beds, basic electric adjustable beds that elevate and configure themselves at the push of a button on a remote control unit, to the top of the line adjustable bed with all the bells and whistles such as wireless remotes, heat, massage, removable legs and more.

Many of people’s problems in today’s society result from the lack of sleep, so be sure to invest in a good bed and maybe a memory foam mattress. The calm and steady sleep we need depends primarily upon the quality of the mattress we use in our beds. The better suited the mattress is for your body, the better you will sleep.

A quality memory foam mattress like Tempurpedic can help you to sleep by reducing the pressure points on your body which means less tossing and turning. There are less expensive alternatives, you can use an alternate brand or even a high density polyurethane foam mattress topper, which is designed to relieve pressure points in the same way that a memory foam mattress does as long as it is 3 or more inches thick. The memory foam mattress pad is an inexpensive way to improve the sleeping surface of your bed as long as the belying mattress is in good condition.

If you are going to buy a memory foam mattress, it is important that you select one that has sufficient memory foam on the top layer. At least 3” in the memory foam layer is preferable for comfort and pressure point relief. If you find your mattress is too firm, memory foam pads don’t cost very much when compared to the cost of an actual mattress set. The comfort the memory foam mattresses provide will make you feel like you are sleeping on a cloud.

The Tempurpedic foam mattress has the capability to return to its original shape and can provide better comfort and orthopedic support than an innerspring mattress. As a dense memory foam mattress reacts with body heat, it will contour to the body shape within seconds. The Tempur Pedic mattress types are suitable for all weights so you don’t have to buy a firmer mattress for someone heavy and a softer mattress for someone who is lighter.

Will my new memory foam mattress get slightly softer over time?

Posted by admin on September 1st, 2010 and filed under memory foam | 3 Comments »

I’ve just bought a new memory foam mattress, it’s very firm so will it get softer over time? I found it quite difficult to sleep on last night. Will I get used to it?

I bought mine in May of this year – I had the same problem but now it is absolutely brilliant.
It took only a couple of weeks of patience & then just kept getting better.
Best wishes.
