Tempurpedic mattresses were first imported into the US in 1992 by CEO Bob Trussell from Sweden. Originally developed by NASA for use in the space program the Swedes spent over 10 years refining the unique viscoelastic memory foam so it could be successfully used as a material for mattresses.
Bob had tried one of the novel mattresses while on a business trip and liked it so much that he became the exclusive US distributor of the Tempurpedic foam line of products. I first found out about Tempurpedic products when I purchased a Tempurpedic pillow to replace the different conventional pillows I was using as they would give me a stiff neck in the morning. It was way more than I had wanted to spend on a pillow but after 12 years of use it’s still like new and has been worth every cent I paid for it. Well, it took a few months for us to finally get used to the mattress but it was well worth it because we now get a great night’s sleep thanks to the Tempurpedic. This is without question the most comfortable mattress I have ever slept on and recommend it very highly to everyone.
Not only do you get a good night’s sleep the Tempurpedic doesn’t have to be flipped or rotated, it’s hypoallergenic and dust mite resistant. It comes with a 20 year warranty so we figured if it lasts that long it’s just as cheap as having to buy a couple of traditional mattresses over the years.
In the summertime it’s a little softer than I like it but it’s still super comfy and in the winter it’s firmer but after a few minutes you just melt right into the bed and it feels great.
Be warned if you’re thinking of buying a memory foam mattress as not all memory foam material is the same. Cheap foam can be too soft in summers and hard in winters because due to the lower foam density properties of the cheaper material. There is a reason why good memory foam costs more so be sure and check out the quality of foam used in the mattress you are considering buying or you may be disappointed.
Due to the enormous popularity of the Tempurpedic memory foam mattress many retail stores now offer them for sale so it can be as easy as making a quick trip to your local furniture store to try one out. Most stores have will have an in-home trial so you can have plenty of time to determine if a Tempurpedic foam mattress is the right mattress for you.

I just purchased one of those polyurethane memory foam mattress pads, but when I took it out of the package, I noticed that the polyurethane smell was horribly strong. Still, I slept on it, and now all my bedding and mattress (and frankly, my room!) smell like polyurethane to the point I need to rewash everything and not use the memory foam right now. Any clues as to how to get that awful "paint-like" smell to disappear from my memory foam mattress pad? If not, any idea how long until that smell coming from the memory foam will last? Will it go away on its own? I would really love to be able to use it again. I paid some money for it and it really is comfortable.
The smell will dissipate within a month maybe 6 weeks. Also a mattress cover will help and will give it the natural look of the mattress plus save it from any mishaps. Nothing that is waterproof because it will hold heat in and make you sweat (we did it).We have one and love ours. I wouldn’t spray or do anything to the mattress itself or it might actually discolor the foam.
I mean the memory foam mattress of 10 inches thick, not just a topper of 2 inches. Costco is selling the twin size at about $400, so it is definitely more expensive than most of the regular twin mattress.
We had a queen memory foam mattress for 5 years and we like it. Just not sure whether it is good for my kids, age 2 and 4.
As I’m sure you’ve noticed, memory foam matresses are warmer than normal matresses. I’d be a bit concerned with very young children having issues with temperature regulation.

my chihuahuas left some urine stains on my memory foam mattress. The mattress has a some kind of thin covering on it. Anyways i cleaned the dirty areas with oxy interior and well now it looks weird, the areas look lighter than the actual mattress color. I dont know but ive heard some people use urine gone and nature’s miracle with success. Any other recommendations?
I recommend Folex.
I use it on my white sofa, and it works like a dream. I have also used it to get long dried in shoe polish out of my wool carpet, and red wine off my lounge chairs.
All you do is spray it on, and blot it off with an absorbent towel. (use an old towel, because it will become stained with whatever you removed from your mattress.)
Plus it’s a non toxic product, it has minimal fumes, and you would have no worries sleeping on it.

That would depend on what my body needs. If I’m suffering from upper back pains, I will go for Tempur foam mattresses with at least 5 pounds of density. If my lower back is killing me, I will go for Talalay latex mattresses because these are less denser. It will provide better comfort and support to my lower body.

This sleeve is made out of Memory foam. This is a polyurethane material developed by NASA, which has an increased viscosity level to keep it nice and firm which offers the ultimate shock resistance. The memory foam protects the Top and Bottom of your laptop leaving the contour protected by a mixture of strong material and foam. ??This sleeve offers way better protection than what I was using before.
Not only does it preform well as a sleeve but it opens wide enough to be used as a cover when your using it. Anybody with a Macbook knows that you cannot keep it on your lap or a long period of time as the bottom of the computer gets scorchingly hot. Having the sleeve on keeps the heat off your lap.

There are two thin elastic straps that keep the sleeve attached to the screen when you have the computer open but it does lack straps on the bottom.
